English Woodland Grant Scheme

Launched in 2005 EWGS is part of the Defra funded England Rural Development Programme and administered by the Forestry Commission. There are six separate grants:

• Woodland Planning Grant
• Woodland Assessment Grant
• Woodland Regeneration Grant
• Woodland Improvement Grant
• Woodland Management Grant
• Woodland Creation Grant

Woodland holdings over 100ha must be certified to the UK Woodland Assurance Standard in order to be eligible for the Woodland Management Grant. CLM has experience of writing Woodland Management Plans that meet the standard and organising certification of woodlands for clients in advance of making WMG applications.

Higher Level Stewardship

In certain circumstances it is appropriate to include woodland within Higher Level Stewardship. We will always ensure that your land is entered into the most appropriate scheme to maximize income potential and ease of management.
