Case Study

Ecological Assessment

In order to satisfy the Local Planning Authority CLM undertook a Scoping Survey of the site which considered the current biological interest of the site and subsequently recommended further ecological surveys and reports that were needed in advance of finalised plans being submitted to the LPA. These further surveys and reports were completed by CLM and included:

  • Reptile Survey
  • Breeding Bird Survey
  • Bat Survey – initial site inspection and emergence survey
  • Dormouse Survey

In addition to these reports CLM also prepared Ecological Enhancement and Habitat Management Plan documents for the site outlining work that should be undertaken to mitigate any loss of habitat and improve habitat provision in the locality. These documents were based on the information gathered in the scoping survey report and subsequent species specific survey reports.
